Holiday Programme Interactive Writing : The Craft Of Story Making
This programme is designed at 3 levels to cater to 5-11 year-olds to help them see the relationship between reading and writing. It is also to allow children to see literacy as something meaningful and enjoyable, rather than a mind-numbing school activity. The focus is on fluency rather than accuracy. The principle behind it is 'write to learn, not learn to write'. The children experiment with some of the features of good story making such as describing people and places, sorting and develop their imagination while giving them the oppurtunity to abandon their inhibitions. Essentially, the lessons focus on :
. Describing People
. Starting a Story
. Sorting & Sequencing
. Planning Stories
. Making a Storybook
