At Level Four of the Cambridge ESOL Main
Suite of examinations, the Cambridge
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is designed to offer a high-level qualification
to individuals who wish to use English for professional or study
purposes. It is also designed to encourage the
development of the skills required by learners progressing towards
scholastic achievement, with emphasis on real-world tasks.
Apart from
widespread corporate recognition, CAE is also accepted by a majority of
educational institutions and universities in Britain, Australasia,
North America and around the world as fulfilling their
English language entrance requirements.
Learners at this Competent (C1) Level
will be able to use language structures with ease and fluency, express
opinions and take part in discussions and arguments in a culturally
acceptable way. They are also aware of the relationship between the
language and the culture it exists in, and of the significance of the
register used in a broad range of social contexts.
The CAE course covers all four language skills – listening, speaking,
