International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

IELTS is the standard test used for university entry in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK and increasingly in the US. Cambridge English For Life offers 2 levels of IELTS Preparation Courses: Foundation and Advanced, each with a holistic approach.

What does a “holistic approach” mean?

  • Learn grammar in addition to the core skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • IELTS practice tests are administered in simulated conditions to reinforce learning and highlight areas requiring improvement.

  • Advanced level study materials if you require a score of 7.0 or higher.

Important Note: There is a 2-year validity for all IELTS results; students need to be sure that at the time of using the results for any intended application, the validity of the results has not lapsed.

 

IELTS Foundation Course (30 hours)

This 30-hour Foundation Course is designed for students with intermediate (CEFR B2) level English proficiency and aiming for an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher to help gain access to university or college, or to improve employment prospects in other English-speaking countries throughout the world.

You will learn:

  • Grammar, academic writing and listening skills
  • To speak with more fluency and accuracy
  • Vocabulary specific to typical test themes
  • Formal, informal and academic language
  • Exam strategies and techniques for the best chance at success.

 

IELTS Advanced Course (80 hours)

This 80-hour Advanced Course is designed for students with upper-intermediate (CEFR C1) level English proficiency and aiming for an IELTS score of 7.0 or higher to help gain access to university or college, improve employment prospects or for migration purposes in other English-speaking countries throughout the world.

You will learn:

  • To accurately use Academic English in writing
  • To express yourself fluently across a range of topics, using appropriate linking words
  • To build vocabulary and good essay structure, so you can write quickly and effectively
  • Exam strategies and techniques for the best chance at success.
